They carried numerous torches that flickered like angry eyes in the darkness. It felt like a scene ripped straight out of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein. These people believed I was something unnatural, something to be feared.

My heart pounded as the mob closed in, their voices rising in a terrifying chorus, ready to burn me alive. I could see the flames licking the air, growing brighter and hotter with every step they took. Panic surged through me, but somewhere inside, a small spark of hope remained.

In those final moments, I realised the horror was not just in their torches or the fire, but in the blindness of their fear. They saw a monster where there was only a frightened soul. As the first flame touched my skin, I screamed—not just in pain, but in sorrow for the cruelty of mankind.

But fear doesn't need logic to feed on; it thrives on darkness and superstition just as these villagers seemed to thrive on paranoia...and cruelty. "Please," I rasped out desperately trying to reason with them but got only more hostile growls in reply. They pushed forward determinedly, maws baring teeth bared like starved beasts intent on feeding. Their voices rose collectively in an eerie symphony of hatred catching fire within itself until all else ceased existence around us except for this nightmare spectacle unfolding before us all... The first torch touched my cheekbone sending searing pain lancing across my face like lightning striking flesh exposed too long under merciless sun. Time seemed to slow then stall altogether while agony devoured every thought whirling inside my skull crushing out resistance under overwhelming assault... I screamed—not just because burning hurt worse than anything ever invented but also because there was something horribly wrong about being burned alive accused falsely while bathed in malicious glee by those who committed this atrocity against humanity...against any feeling soul left within them anymore!
